Chesa Salis-Baer - magnificent appartment for rent

The Engadine mansion from the 17th Century is located in a charming village in a rural setting, the living area offers antique furniture in warm, friendly and luxurious rooms and living areas.

The imposing building was constructed in the year 1648 and subsequently in the late 19th Century by the architect and master builder Nikolaus Hartmann Senior, a member of the Von Salis family of San Moritz, intervened to make barn in the back side overlooking the backyard habitable. Architecturally, it is a patrician house with renaissance style graffiti decorations, inspired by the typical style of the surrounding environment. The building is classified as a historical monument and is under the protection of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage.

The exterior walls are made of solid brick, typical of that period, with thicknesses from 60 to 80 cm. The floors are composed of wooden beams, and the ceilings are either plastered or covered with wood panels. The floors are parquet, checkerboard or framed with dark or light wood. The roof is gabled with stone slabs. The windows' shutters have been restored and double glazing installed. The oil heating, boiler, water heaters and heating radiators have all been recently installed. The electrical systems and communications match today's needs.
